Kris Robinson

What a weekend it was for Combine Academy and a few players, as they were the talk of the event at the Carmel Christian Tip-Off Classic.  Not only did they knock off Oak Hill Academy but now sit at 2-0 to start the season and looking like a must-see program early on.

The talent level that the Goats have is highly intriguing and certainly ones that will be talked about throughout the season.  However, one prospect is hoping to shed some light on just what he could do and be labeled as one of, if not the, best shooter in the state.

2021 6'2 guard Kris Robinson showed out this weekend, especially with his 24-point performance vs. Oak Hill and finishing his weekend going 11-for-15 from three.

'It was great,' Robinson told Phenom Hoops. 'I'm glad I got the opportunity to show what I do best.  My mindset coming into this weekend was that if I come out and shoot and play well, that it could change my life recruiting wise.  And it has been great to plat at Combine.'

Robinson certainly put that label on his back as a knockdown shooter but he also has been working on his ball-handling and defense, hoping to become a complete player as he continues to learn under head coach Jeff McInnis.

With performances like that, it will for sure continue to attract college coaches as well.  Earning his first offer just last month from Catawba, Robinson also said that he has been hearing from Elon, College of Charleston, LMU, Winthrop, Charlotte, Gardner-Webb, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Lees-McCrae.

'They've just been saying that I had a good weekend and they will continue to be in touch with me,' he said.  As of right now, he has already made visits to Charlotte and Catawba and has an upcoming visit to Elon soon.

But with him showcasing his talent and shot-making capability, this could be a BIG breakout year for the junior guard, as not only will he be putting himself on the map as one of the top shooters around but also continue to Combine Academy on the map as well.
