This was a battle between two heavy-weights at the event. Both teams loaded with D1 talent on the court, these two duked it out all afternoon long. Upward Stars had the early momentum, getting out to a double-digit halftime lead 36-24. It was a balanced attack between four players, with Robert McCray leading the way early. Elijah Tucker kept his team close with an impressive first half. The Georgia Stars came rolling back in the second half though behind five 3-pointers by Taihland Owens, eventually taking the lead with seconds remaining. That is when DaVeon Thomas stepped up, attacked the basket and got the And-1 with 1 second remaining to give his team the tough win.
