The Phenom Prep Showcase was a tremendous event that offered us an opportunity to find new talent or to check in on a few familiar names as well. Lab U is a program in North Carolina that is a bit new but is making a strong early splash with prospects that could be underrated talents for college coaches.  They were able to bring a balanced attack throughout, both inside and out, as we dive more into what was said at the event about several players.

2024 Demarco Reynolds

“2024 5’10 DeMarco Reynolds (Lab U) continues to flourish as a guard. Each time I’ve watched him, he has been productive with his scoring, his ability to create and penetrate, as well as step outside and knock down shots.”

“5’10 2024 Demarco Reynolds (Lab U) has showcased his shot-making & playmaking ability. Quick, savvy PG. Creates paint touches. Crafty finisher at the end of drives.”

2025 JJ Dancy

“2025 JJ Dancy (Lab U) is an interesting piece on the court. With his size/frame, he can make an impact in many areas on both sides. Finds ways to make plays, score inside and out, and be that x-factor on the court that can be used in an array of ways.”

2024 Christian Aukuso

“6’7 2024 Christian Aukuso with a dominant performance for Lab U, finishing with 30 points. Strong, physical forward. Able to score through contact in the post but can also face up & attack off the bounce. Capable from the perimeter.”

“2024 6’7 Christian Aukuso (Lab U) can be a force on the court with a strong frame. Interesting to watch his ability to be physical down in the paint but comfortable in facing up to knock down shots, as well as create contact.”

2025 Kevin Crockett

“2025 6’8 Kevin Crockett (Lab U) is showing some flashes of his game. Long frame that allows him to finish high and with touch, as well as get on the glass. Moves well without the ball to create opportunities.”

“2025 Kevin Crockett (Lab U) is very intriguing with his length and activity, able to use his frame to his advantage on both ends and create opportunities for himself whether turning people over or altering shots into easy transition offense.”
