We wrote about our top performers overall on Monday but that doesn’t mean the list of strong performances stopped there, as we had several other players step up on the big stage and put on a show. Here are a few more players that might have gone under the radar but put on a show down in the Outer Banks at the Good Guys vs. Cancer.
2022 Jackson Holt (Moravian Prep): Holt continues to show why he should be regarded as one of the top, if not the, top shooter in the state for North Carolina. He has such a fluid shot and is so fundamentally sound, you are more surprised when he missed than when he makes it. He shoed his range and confidence from outside, scoring 26 points in Game 1 and 17 in Game 2, much of which from three
2024 Markus Robinson (Veritas Collegiate): Robinson is a new name for us but we were intrigued with what he was going to show, coming into the event averaging nearly 39ppg early on the season. Robinson is a strong, athletic guard that showed the ability to get to his spots, create opportunities at the line, finish strong around the basket, and plays with such a physical feel on the court. He led the way with a double-double in his only outing, scoring 27 points and recording 12 rebounds.
2023 Isaac Dobie (First Flight): The leader of the First Flight squad, the veteran really opened up more eyes with his growing game along with his outside shooting, something he has shown countless times. He went off for 32 points on Day 1 and scored 15 points on Day 2, but what he really showed was his maturity on the court, his ability to create by putting the ball on the floor, and his ability to continue to a three-point threat. Though out in the Outer Banks, Dobie opened up eyes more to the state of North Carolina with his strong play.
