Phenom Hoops recently caught up with a rising prospect in the Class of 2025 with 6’6 Dietrich Richardson, a guard that has tremendous size and skillset, and one that college coaches are checking out hard this summer. Richardson has been adding more offers to his list, and that may not be slowing down.  He recently added an offer from Saint Louis, while he has also been receiving interest from schools like Marquette and Oklahoma.  We spoke to him about the latest in our Phenom 1-on-1.

Phenom: Wanted to first ask you how this high school season went, and what is your excitement about this summer?
Richardson: My high school season went very well, as I averaged 19.8 points per game. My excitement about this summer is that I really want to show my skill and win games; it is the last go around for AAU.

Phenom: Who are you playing with this summer and what are your thoughts on the team?
Richardson: Mid Pro Academy and we are very good. Average height is 6’5, we are very versatile, and we can play in different varieties.

Phenom: How are you hoping to develop more with your game?
Richardson: My 3-point shot being more consistent and my strength.

Phenom: How has your recruitment been going, and your thoughts on the latest offer (Saint Louis)?
Richardson: Recruitment has been very good, and my thoughts are that I love the school and the staff.

Phenom: What did they have to say when they offered? What do they like about your game?
Richardson: My pace and my ability to move, as well as handle the ball at my height. Also, my IQ as a player.

Phenom: What offers do you hold?
Richardson: Virginia Tech, Illinois, Arizona State, Saint Louis, Bradley, Vanderbilt, Green Bay, and others.

Phenom: Who would you say has been recruiting you hard at this point?
Richardson: Well, Saint Louis has been recruiting me hard because the staff was at Indiana State first.
