The Carolina Cavs prevailed over Team United Floyd in the 14U championship game at the Phenom JMAC Showcase after an impressive weekend where multiple prospects from this group made names for themselves with their abilities. In what was a hard fought battle, this resilient group showed their ability to weather the storm, maintain focus and come away with the win. Guys like 6’1 2023 Ty Burch, 5’9 2023 Tre White, and 6’1 2023 Brandon Baker stood out all weekend long, but showed their stripes in the championship game with sound two way play and flashes of brilliance. As this group enters high school, expect them to make similar noise due to their ability to play hard, for one another, and with a ton of excitement. For Team United Floyd they were able to overcome an early double digit deficit to make it a close game but it ultimately wasn’t enough. Guys like 5’10 2023 KC Concepcion, 6’0 2023 Cole Callaway, and 5’11 2023 Demarrius Day all stood out with their ability to create offense. The player of the game in my opinion was 6’1 2023 Ty Burch, he is arguably the best long term prospect on that was on the court in this one and should be one to track moving forward with his ability to run a team, get a bucket at any given point in time, and defend the point of attack with purpose and pride. This win finished off what was a great weekend for this Carolina Cavs program, it will be really exciting to track this group moving forward! Congrats to both teams in this matchup, as we all know, iron sharpens iron, and this was a really exciting battle between two great teams!
