After every event at Phenom Hoop Report, it is always fun to listen to what our scouts have to say when comparing players and their skillset. Of course, we have scouts watching different teams, which only means they have different opinions.

Best Interior Presence from the Phenom G3 Showcase
Jeff Bendel: 6’5 ’21 Treyvon Byrd (NC Ice)
Obviously, Byrd is not a big man, which is why we are emphasizing the “best interior presence” phrase here, as it explains the reasoning for selecting him in this category. He simply applied nonstop pressure as a penetrator and finisher throughout the weekend. Byrd is long and possesses great rebounding instincts, which allows him to bang amongst bigger/stronger opponents with no issue. He doesn’t spend a ton of time within the paint, but he’s downright dominant when he does. Though Byrd is mainly used as a wing player, his ability to protect the rim is as strong as most big men.
Miles Masercola: 6’6 2022 Trey Ramsey (Foothills Legacy 15U)
Ramsey is an unstoppable scorer using his footwork and touch on the block while also showing the ability to be a knockdown 3 point shooter. He moves like a wing but understands his role on this team as a go-to offensive option and a rim protector. He had 26 Points and 13 Rebounds in my only viewing and picked up right where he left off from the QC Showcase.
