The 17U SEC Silver Championship was one of the most tightly contested matchups of the entire event. The game pitted PSB Elite – Brim up against Foothills Legacy and it did not disappoint. 6’3 G Quame McClendon was huge in this game for PSB as his three-level scoring opened up the floor for his teammates to operate. McClendon ended the game with a game-high 19 points and his team needed every single one. On the other side of the ball, 6’3 G James Freeman was able to get loose for The Legacy on his way to a 14-point outing, as he has a near unguardable hesitation move and can finish above the rim. His play along with the poise from 5’11 G Jackson Vance was able to give Foothills Legacy a 34-26 halftime lead. However, PSB Elite came out roaring after halftime. The backcourt play was outstanding from 6’1 Elias Kalariotes and 6’2 Nishawn Hodge as the two garnered Co-MVP honors for this game with some clutch baskets and incredibly heady plays down the stretch. 6’5 F Bryson Hosclaw showed up big in the second half for Foothills Legacy as he was a force to be reckoned with on the low block, scoring off of post moves and finishing through contact. However, with 1:29 left in the game, 6’5 G Jake Brockmann hit the shot of the game for PSB Elite on a corner three that gave them a four-point lead and they never looked back. PSB Elite won the game over Foothills Legacy 63-56 in a sublime effort from both teams.
