It is the game that many people around the state of North Carolina are talking about, as two of the top teams in the state matchup for a chance to play in the championship game. No. 1 seed Southwest Guilford (30-0) takes on No. 2 seed Cox Mill (28-2) on Saturday, in what may be the biggest game of the season, especially considering what is on the line.
These two teams have the pedigree of winning state championships and they also have some of the premier talents in the state. They will all be on display at Lenoir-Rhyne’s Shuford Gymnasium in Hickory.

Southwest Guilford is a senior-led program that uses a balanced attack on both ends of the floor and a team that knows how to score the basketball. Coming in, Southwest has five players that average double figures, helping the Cowboys average 83.1 points per game.
The Langley brothers (Keyshaun and Kobe) will look to lead the charge for the Cowboys, as both UNCG signees are averaging double figures this season (Keyshawn 13.4ppg, Kobe 11.6ppg). This will certainly be the Cowboys toughest test so far in the playoffs, as they have won their first four games by an average of 38 points.
Cox Mill also brings in firepower as well, with five starters all being seniors just like Southwest.
