On Tuesday, Phenom Hoops traveled to Greensboro Day School for an inter-conference battle between the Bengals and the visiting Forsyth Country Day Furies. It was an excellent opportunity to see the GDS coaching staff work out the early-season kinks and utilize their bench. On the opposite side, we were looking to see what the Furies have to offer since the change in coaching regime.

 

This contest quickly took off with GDS setting the tone on both ends of the floor, being patient on offense, working the interior, making purposeful passes, and controlling the glass. Josh Taylor actually scored the first ten points for the Bengals, forcing FCDS into a corner before even getting halfway through the opening period. It began to get ugly, as the Furies simply could not match the incredible depth of GDS, closing the quarter with a score of 25-9. The second quarter was no different and the Bengals entered the half with a 39-16 lead.
