Lady Phenom continues to expand its coverage around the country, and we head down to Lake Ridge High School to talk to 2025 Joy Egbuna, a 6’4 prospect who has been garnering a lot of attention this summer. She has added multiple offers early on this summer, as we recently spoke to her about all the latest and more about her game.

Player: Joy Egbuna
Class: 2025
Height: 6’4
School: Lakeridge High School
AAU: Moriah Jefferson Elite P24

Game Description:

“I would best describe my game as unselfish. I’m very big on uplifting and communicating because those are the two things u can’t be taught. It just comes naturally to me and makes the game of basketball more fun for me. I like to encourage my team when we’re down and remind them to keep playing until there’s no more time left on the clock. Now doing this every game isn’t easy, so that’s why I’m glad I have teammates who give the same encouragement to me.”

Recruitment:

Ebguna has been finding a lot of success to start the summer, as she has added offers from Oklahoma State, UTSA, Wichita State, and Stephen F. Austin, now joining her offers from North Texas, UMKC, Abilene Christian, Houston, Ole Miss, San Francisco, and SMU.

“I’m grateful for them and all the hard work I’ve put in is starting to pay off! And I don’t think any stand out to me right now I’m just honored to have received them.”

Schools have been taking notice of her ability to be able to guard outside at the wing position as well as be able to operate in the post. And after a high school season in which she recorded the most rebounds in a season, most rebounds in a game, and most blocks in a season at Lake Ridge High School, she could easily see her recruitment continue to rise quickly this summer.

Right now, she has taken a visit to Texas Tech, a visit that she really enjoyed.
