First Half

It took a little time for Clemson to find their rhythm inside the arc but they were able to create turnovers, push the tempo, and knockdown several 3-pointers to start the game.  It started to open up the defense for the Tigers midway through the half. That trend seemed to continue throughout, as Clemson went 8-for-17 from behind the arc and 49 percent from the floor.  John Newman led the way with 13 first-half points, while Curran Scott came off the bench for 11 points (three 3-pointers).  Chris Martin scored seven points, while J.C. Younger led the way with 8 points for Presbyterian.

Halftime: Clemson 43 – Presbyterian 21

Second Half

The Tigers continued to move the ball well and attack.  After knocking down several perimeter shots, Clemson used a balanced attack inside and out, continuing to increase their lead and eventually taking care of business.  Tevin Mack and Chase Hunter played well in the second half, combining for 15 points.

Final: Clemson 79 – Presbyterian 45

Standouts:

John Newman III (Clemson): Newman kicked off the game and set the pace for Clemson early on, scoring 13 first-half points.  His outside shot was falling all night, going 3-for-5 from behind the arc but also showing his ability to initiate offense or play off the ball.  Newman continues to grow his overall game and with his versatility on the floor at 6
