Stockrisers from Phenom Lakesgiving (Part 1)

The first-ever Phenom Lakesgiving was a huge success, as teams came out and really showcased their talent, and several players should see their stock rise after their performances at the event. Here are four players that college coaches should take a look at more with what they have shown early on. 2024 Desmond Kent (Central Cabarrus): It was a nice showing from the 6’5 junior, as Kent seems to...

2026 Aalayja Minard/ 2026 Rayana Minard (West Cabarrus): The twin duo was something special to watch and should have the West Cabarrus program excited about the future with these two leading the charge. Both Aalayja and Rayana were strong two-way players, staying extremely active and getting into the passing lanes defensively, but also using that same motor to score the ball effectively from...

Phenom All-American Camp Evaluations: Team 8

Team 8 Coach: Brian Allen #11: 5’8 ’25 Gavin Fields (Ashbrook) Starting things off, we look at a player that arguably stood out as the best perimeter defender on this team, Gavin Fields. He’s a young, tough, slightly undersized guard prospect with a high motor and excellent quickness. Fields is a great penetrator, able to effortlessly get downhill and finish or set up others. He’s also...

Summer Havoc Player Spotlight: Session 2 (Day 1)

By: Heath Gulledge 2024 6’2 Miles Beard (CC Elite 16u) Beard came out in the first game of the day on fire. He was getting it done from all levels on the offensive end. He really excels in the catch-and-shoot scenarios but also knows how to find his shot coming off screens and using the dribble to get open. He showed potential to get to the basket and finish around defenders as the game went...

Player Standouts at Day Three of Phenom G3 Showcase

6’2 ’21 Travon Jones (Mint Hill Lakers) Although guys like Joel Baucom and Glenn Bynum have been the main offensive weapons for this Mint Hill Lakers group, Jones made a very strong impact on that end of the floor. He provided his usual amount of hustle, toughness, and ability to fill in the gaps, but also attacked the basket and hit numerous jumpers along the perimeter. As an unsigned senior,...

Dawkins’ Day 2 Standouts from Phenom G3 Showcase

By; DeAjai Dawkins 6’3 2022 Rasean Cason (All Carolina 17U)  Rasean Cason is another player who I watched for the very first time this weekend. Cason caught my attention with his blend of athleticism, 3-level scoring potential, and a rugged mentality that keeps both himself and his team engaged. On the defensive end, Rasean’s face tells the story of a defender prepared for battle. I would like...
