Getting to Know: 2021 6’8 Anouar Mellouk (Fork Union)

Mars Hill secures two impressive commitments for 2021 recruiting class

It was a pretty good week for the staff at Mars Hill, as they secured two big commitments from players in the Carolina’s. 2021 Kadyn Dawkins and 2021 Janyle Pittman both announced their commitment this week, giving the program two prospects that they hope can help the future of the program. 2021 Drew Williams breaks down Top 6; decision date coming in December

2021 6’7 Drew Williams from Scotland Campus had a solid summer, receiving multiple offers from schools around the country. A few high majors and a few mid-majors, schools have been making a strong push for him over the last few months. Recently, Williams announced his Top 6, which included Tennessee State, East Carolina, Howard, Murray State, Iowa State, and South Carolina.

Phenom Spotlight: 2021 Kabe Ellis (Andrews)

Ellis has had a productive three years so far at Andrews, averaging double-figures each season. As a freshman, he averaged 11.5 points per game, shooting 39 percent from the floor. He was able to increase that to 18.7ppg his sophomore year and is coming off a junior campaign in which he averaged 20.8ppt, 4.6rpg, 4.1apg, 3.7spg, and shooting 43 percent from the field. Now, he is looking to go out in his final season with a bang.

Phenom Player Spotlight: 2021 Troy Fulton (Lincoln Charter)

Fulton was off the charts last season for Lincoln Charter. He doesn't always get the praise but should be capturing eyes with his play. Last season, he averaged 14.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game to help Lincoln Charter to a 27-3 overall record. But what should have the attention of many is his ability to make shots from the perimeter. Fulton knocked down an astonishing 129 3-pointers last season on 58 percent shooting. That includes 13 games in which he hit 5 or more 3-pointers.

Phenom Player Spotlight: 2021 Omarion Blount

Blount had a tremendous junior campaign, one that certainly deserves more attention. Playing in 26 games and helping his team to an 18-9 overall record, Blount averaged 17.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.0 steals per game at Washington High School. That includes nine games in which he finished with 20+ points. He also knocked down 45 3-pointers on 38 percent shooting from behind the arc and 52 percent shooting overall.
