Given their success as a program, folks consistently expect great things to emerge from the Team Charlotte organization. Their unique approach and overall brand of basketball undoubtedly separates them from other teams. Although it starts and ends with Head Coach Jeff McInnis, his staff has clearly taken on more responsibility. Moreover, the specific type of tough, rugged players they pursue is what makes them so different. While they have a lot of notable talent within their oldest teams, it feels like young prospects Cam Newman and Tre Raymon are poised to be the next major names to emerge from Team Charlotte.

Starting with Newman, who has seemingly been around way longer at this point than most middle-school kids. Why' Because he's already made a strong impression on the high school stage. Between playing up multiple age groups in summer or contributing to his high school varsity squad, Newman already knows how to run a team and properly carry himself on both ends of the floor. He's a smart, crafty, unselfish floor general with a tight handle, sharp vision, and the ability to reliably create for himself and others. Newman scores the ball with nice efficiency, and regularly displays the ability to hit difficult jumpers'both off the catch and bounce. He's also a quality defender with quality anticipation instincts, which allows him to force turnovers and push transition play with relative ease. Newman's sheer poise is difficult to ignore. =

Meanwhile, the appeal with Raymon should be somewhat obvious upon seeing him walk into a gym. He's a long, wiry, blossoming 6-foot-7 forward who already utilizes his length and showcases flashes of enticing perimeter skill. Raymon moves extremely well for his size and age. He's able to cut, finish around the basket, attack within a few dribbles, and knock down perimeter jumpers at a respectable clip. Raymon rebounds the ball well and can push the break or run the floor effectively in transition. His frame alone should have the attention of spectators and college coaches alike, but Raymon's continued progression will certainly be worth following.
