Last year, junior Aamir Simms showed flashes of what he could provide on the court in big moments, especially when you watched him vs North Carolina and their upset win vs. No. 3 Duke.  Simms decided to test the waters of the upcoming NBA Draft, getting some feedback about his game.  However, on Monday, the rising senior decided that he will now return for his final season at Clemson.

Averaging 13.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, Simms was a third-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference pick.  With his return, he immediately provides a leader, a go-to player that has been through the rigorous season, and a player that can score in multiple ways; not to mention someone who can get after it on the boards as well.

Clemson now looks to bring back four of their five starters from last year, which should be an even more cohesive unit with a year under their belt.  It should also allow the Tigers to continue to spread the floor offensively, as they ranked 3rd in the ACC in 3-pointers attempted and have multiple weapons that can score on several different levels.

With a few key seniors now gone and Trey Jemison transferring, Simms will help in multiple ways on both ends of the floor. And with two incoming freshmen that should provide some help in the frontcourt, Simms can also help mold and show the way for P.J. Hall and Olivier-Maxence Prosper.
