The final contest of our sixth annual Hoops and Dreams Showcase took place between Westover and New Life Christian. As expected, the atmosphere was excellent for these two local squads to battle it out. Things opened up with Westover gaining clear momentum and mounting a strong lead to open the game. However, that was short-lived, as New Life Christian quickly responded to end the quarter with a 18-14 lead. The back-and-forth play continued through the second quarter, but the Monarchs held a 36-32 lead at halftime. Following the break, neither team gave an inch. New Life maintained their lead, but Westover simply refused to quit
