North Carolina will be having a new name in town this year, as 2023 Davin Cosby Jr. announced on Tuesday that he would be transferring to Word of God for his final season.  Cosby has been a familiar name with Phenom Hoops over the last few months, as he certainly has been a hot target.

Cosby is coming off a terrific season at Benedictine, where he helped his team go 21-5 and averaged 23 points per game.  He will now be joining up with 2023 Freddie Dilione, giving the Holy Rams two dynamic scoring guards on the floor along with all the other talent that will be on display.

The 2023 guard is one that is explosive, dynamic, can score the ball in a variety of ways, has tremendous body control, finishes well, and has a smooth shot from the perimeter.  We spoke recently to Cosby about how this summer has been going, and this is what he had to say:

Phenom: How has this summer been? What was it like to cap it off at the Adidas All-American Camp?

Cosby: This summer has been great for me. All the work I put in with my trainer MJ Wynn is translating to the game.  I’m blessed to be a part of the All-American camp. It was a great experience with the trainers, the community service, and the other talented players.

Phenom: How do you think your game has improved over the last year or so? How has your game elevated in your eyes?

Cosby: My game has improved a lot just because of my confidence. When I developed confidence in my game, it made basketball easy in my eyes. The mind controls a lot more than I thought and I figured that out in the past year.

As far as his recruitment, Cosby has seen it take off over the summer, as he has over 30+ offers which recently include Virginia, USC, Tennessee, LSU, NC State, Wichita State, Mississippi State, West Virginia, Murray State, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and so many others.  And more could be coming.  So start getting to know the name people of North Carolina, as you will be hearing his name a lot in the Hoop State.
