Game 1
Broughton vs. Millbrook

This was a great battle between two of the best public schools in the 919. These two programs have a rich basketball history. Millbrook started the game on a 10-0 run. Even with the slow start from Broughton they managed to fight back in the first quarter tying the game at 17.

Throughout the entire game there were a lot of players who made big time plays. The two players that has the most impact on the game was Manning Lasso (Broughton) and Ceejay Jordan (Millbrook)

These two players were tremendous. Manning Lasso led the way for Broughton finishing with 22 points and 9 rebounds. He played a great overall game. He does a little bit of everything for Broughton High School. Manning is a player that you would want on your team. He is a really good athlete with a high basketball IQ.

Ceejay Jordan has been impressive in all of their games at the John Wall. The one thing I loved about him was how he never gave up during the game. He did everything that he could to help his team win. CeeJay was tremendous on the glass finishing with 10 rebounds. He scored the ball in a variety of ways finishing with 25 points.

Game 2
Columbus vs. Winston-Salem Christian

What a battle between two really good teams. Both teams had the lead with under two minutes. Cameron and Cayden led the way for Columbus. The Boozer brothers made big time plays time and time again on both sides of the ball. It’s hard to believe that they are only freshmen. Cameron and Cayden both play well beyond their years. They both had double-doubles. The MVP of the game was Cameron Boozer who had 26 points and 15 rebounds. Cayden had an excellent floor game. He had a double-double as well finishing with 13 points and 10 assists.

Lewis Walker and Isaiah Washington are two 2024’s players that are going to make a lot of noise in the Hoop State. These two are already on a lot of colleges radars already. Lewis is one of the most productive players in the state. He has a great frame to go along with his skillset. Isaiah Washington is a player who is full of potential and upside.

Winston Salem Christian Seniors Camian Shell and Quante Berry continue to have big years for Coach Lowe. Camian Shell finished with 13 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. Quante Berry finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Game 3
Brewster vs. NCGBB National

What a game between Brewster and NCGBB. NCGBB gets a big signature win. For a first-year program to knock off a national powerhouse in Brewster Academy is something special. Give a lot of credit to head coach Patrick Cole. His teams continue to get better and better every time we  watch them play.

Trey Boyd is a knock down shooter. Over the past 3 weeks we have seen light it up on multiple occasions. He is a player who deserves to be considered one of the best shooters in the state.

Reid Ducharme was the bright spot for Brewster Academy all week long. After a 17 point performance last night, he followed it up with 15 points today. Reid is a player who can get it going in a hurry. Big time shooter from the perimeter.

Game 4
Chambers vs. Virginia Episcopal

In the fourth game of the day, Chambers and Virginia Episcopal School (VES) faced off as both teams looked to rebound after tough opening round losses in the TJ Warren Bracket. Through three quarters, we saw a tight ball game. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter did Chambers begin to pull away. They were able to get out in transition and speed up the tempo of the game. Chambers went on to win 58-48.

Chambers was led by Jaylen Curry and Daniel Sanford (South Carolina commit). Curry was electric with his ability to create and make tough passes look easy. He is a blur in the open court and extremely tough to stay in front of. Curry finished with a double-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Sanford finished with a game-high 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist. He utilized his strength, athleticism and versatility to finish around the basket.

VES had a balanced attack with three players with twelve points each. Desmond Roberts finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists, showcasing his ability to finish strong in the paint. Augie Brodie shot the ball well once again from three going 4-5 from beyond the arc. Walker Andrews had another productive game with 12 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist.
