With the recent start of travel ball, there has been a lot of discussion surrounding players who are beginning to finally receive the appropriate amount of recognition for their abilities. While most college programs have approached the Class of 2023 with caution, it’s clear that Truman Claytor will ultimately become a priority for next-level coaches. Given everything he’s done with Team Loaded over the last few months, it would be fair to refer to him as one of the more underrated prospects within the state. Although guys like Isaiah Washington and Mayar Wol receive a ton of attention, Claytor is truly as valuable as anyone on the roster. He should expect a drastic uptick in his recruitment over the next calendar year, so let’s take a closer look…

It would be very difficult to overstate Claytor’s significance as an all-around leader for this Team Loaded group. Not only is he extremely versatile and adaptable to various different roles, but his ability to expand his production and seemingly produce against all types of opponents makes him a nightmare matchup. Claytor handles and passes the ball well while displaying an understanding of how to create for himself off the bounce. He scores regularly from all levels, and does a phenomenal job of utilizing his size to overwhelm his assignment as a penetrator. Claytor is also a useful defender and strong rebounder, especially for his position, and knows how to properly push the break in transition. He’s smart and makes quality decisions with the ball in his hands, but can also apply pressure as a cutter and off-ball threat. Claytor’s future is bright, especially considering that his value and impressive production has surfaced.
