The state of North Carolina is blessed with an overabundance of talent. In the North Carolina 2018 class, 60 plus players signed with D1 schools and another 40 plus signed to play at the D2, D3, NAIA or Juco level. Quite impressive numbers! This year, the 2019 class is on the same course to have 100 plus players continue to play at the collegiate level. In our unsigned senior spotlight, we want to take a closer look at 6'5 Regin Larson of Hickory Grove High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is someone that we strongly feel is a scholarship-worthy player.

There's a lot to like with Larson, who garners most of his attention as a spot-up option, but is also capable of expanding his role and making plays wherever needed. Larson possesses a solid handle and overall feel for the game, which allows him to create reliably within two to three dribbles. He doesn't typically force the action on either end of the floor and does a quality job of containing his assignment defensively. So far this season, Larson has found his comfort zone as the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 10.5 points and filling in the gaps on both ends of the floor. His recruitment is beginning to pick up, but there's still more than enough time to get in on the Larson sweepstakes.

We recently saw Larson at our National Showcase and stated, 'A lot of attention gets centered to AJ Smith and Jacori Owens on this team, but Larson's role is also extremely vital. He's a very impactful floor-spacing forward with the ability to toggle between playing inside the arc or on the perimeter. Larson is smart and does a really great job of operating within his role. He shoots the ball very efficiently from all levels and is tougher than most opponents seem to credit him for. Larson is a clear college-level prospect that knows how to play the right way.'That seems to explain his situation perfectly, somewhat overlooked because of the talented sophomore duo (mentioned above), yet still has a clearly defined role for this team. D2 and D3 coaches should be all over Larson, as he absolutely has the necessary ability to contribute at the next level.
