At the beginning of each new year, Phenom Hoops works to assemble a series of articles centered around unsigned senior prospects. Last season, over one hundred players from North Carolina went on to play at the Division I, II, III or NAIA levels, and that number looks likely to continue increasing with the current senior class. Typically, we take a closer look at guys who are overlooked and underrated, and today's edition will highlight Avery Keller of Hibriten and Team Loaded 704.

There are so many instances that leads to a prospect getting overlooked in terms of recruitment, and it feels like Keller is starting to get an unfair shake. The lefty is a strong, athletic, versatile two-way wing/forward that does a quality amount of everything for his team. He's great at getting downhill and attacking the basket, where he can evade or finish through the defense. Keller is a great athlete that constantly prowls for putback dunks but also regularly gets up when penetrating or in transition. He shoots the ball at an effective clip from beyond the arc and also possesses the necessary IQ and ability to control the offense from the elbows. Keller simply finds a way to be productive, both with and without the ball in his hands, and carries more than his weight in all facets of the game.

We've seen Keller multiple times, including at our Phenom Challenge LIVE, where we stated:'Keller is an interesting player with his combination of frame, skill set, and athleticism. He is able to really pass the ball and see the floor, lining up from the high post and as a secondary handler. He is also strong enough to take smaller players on the block. Keller will dunk on you in traffic and also stroke the 3-ball. Again, like we said, there is a lot to like here. Someone who can be very productive. The type of player who comes into this league and finds his way onto the floor often.'

Keller only continued to trend upward after our last viewing, becoming the clear leader of Hibriten and posting nightly averages of 16.9 PPG, 7.9 RPG, and 1.3 SPG while shooting 54% from the field and highlighting his ability to score from all three levels. His accolade list is equally as impressive, featuring 1,500 career points, four All-Conference selections, two-time county Player of the Year, second-team All-District as a sophomore, and first-team All-District as a junior and senior. All of that on top of sporting an impressive 4.25 Honors GPA makes Keller even more enticing. He will find success and production wherever he goes, but college coaches would be smart to get involved sooner than later, as Keller has a game that will certainly translate to the next level.
