At the beginning of each new year, Phenom Hoops works to assemble a series of articles centered around unsigned senior prospects. Last season, over a hundred players from North Carolina went on to play at the Division I, II, III, or NAIA levels, and that number looks likely to continue increasing with the current senior class. Typically, we take a closer look at guys who are overlooked and under-recruited, and today's edition will highlight Adam Harvey of Chatham Charter.

We've watched Harvey closely over the last few years, including at our most recent Tyler Lewis HoopFest, where we stated, 'There's a lot to like about this Chatham Charter squad, which includes Harvey and his consistent leadership. He's a polished three-level scorer with IQ and the ability to create for himself and others, or find opportunities without the ball. Harvey can attack the basket, pull-up from midrange, or spot-up from beyond the arc. He takes smart shots and mixes it up at a healthy rate offensively. Harvey is able to contribute and be an asset in a variety of different roles.' Later followed by, 'It's quite easy to appreciate the balance that Chatham Charter showcases from game to game, and Adam Harvey as important as anyone to their overall approach. He's a polished three-level scorer with an adaptable game and the ability to effectively produce within a variety of different roles. Harvey can create for himself and others or find opportunities as a cutter and spot-up threat. He's a great shooting threat from midrange and capable from beyond the arc, and features a reliable pull-up off the bounce. Harvey also finishes well around the basket whenever getting downhill and attacking. He also makes hustle plays, defends his position nicely, and leads by example on both ends of the floor.'

Between his individual production and Chatham Charter's team success, it's difficult to say anything other than positives about Harvey. The Knights are currently undefeated (27-0) thanks, in large part, to everything Harvey provides as a multifaceted tone-setter. He's simply a well-rounded player who naturally impacts the game as a passer, rebounder, and overall scorer. Harvey is a useful defender with the necessary blend of size, instincts, and toughness to reliably contain his assignment and force turnovers at a nice rate. Right now, he's posting nightly averages of 17.0 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 3.3 APG, and 3.0 SPG while shooting an insane 64% from the floor. Harvey is a capable shooter from distance but prefers to attack the midrange and get downhill whenever possible. In three years at Chatham Charter, Harvey has gone 62-5. He's smart, selflessness, and battle-tested, which should certianly make him a quality piece at the next level.
