At the beginning of each new year, Phenom Hoops works to assemble a series of articles centered around unsigned senior prospects. Last season, over one hundred players from North Carolina went on to play at the Division I, II, III or NAIA levels, and that number look likely to continue increasing with the current senior class. Typically, we take a closer look at guys who are overlooked and underrated, and today's edition will highlight'Chris Daniels of Millbrook.

Recently, our Colby Lewis covered Daniels in Millbrook's game against Enloe, where he stated, '6'1 2021 Chris Daniels is such a vital piece of this Millbrook team. He does so many things that help this team win. Daniels finished the game with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 assist. On the defensive end, he sets the tone for this Millbrook team. He bothers the ball and forces turnovers. He was a catalyst in the second quarter when Millbrook extended their lead. He had eight points in the second quarter alone. He has the ability to score from different areas of the court. Daniels is a strong guard who does a great job of creating off of the bounce and getting into the paint. He excels in transition. Not only that, he has the ability to hurt you from beyond the arc.'

Daniels' value is pretty obvious upon watching him with Millbrook, where he simply exudes toughness and leadership by example. He's excellent at utilizing his length and quickness to effortlessly beat opponents off the dribble, where he's more than capable of making plays for himself or others within the paint. Daniels is a great defender with positioning and anticipation, which often allows him to force turnover and push transition play with relative ease. He's smart and makes quality decisions in the open floor, but can also find success without necessarily requiring the ball in his hands. Daniels is a true competitor and someone that various types of college programs should be eyeing.
