At the beginning of each new year, Phenom Hoops works to assemble a series of articles centered around unsigned senior prospects. Last season, hundreds of players from North Carolina went on to play at the Division I, II, III or NAIA levels, and that number looks likely to continue increasing with the current senior class. Typically, we take a closer look at guys who are overlooked and underrated, and today's edition will highlight Brandon Morgan of Forsyth Country Day.

We've watched Morgan really burst onto the scene over the last calendar year, stating, 'Although one could pick a variety of standouts for this Forsyth Country Day squad, Morgan is definitely deserving of recognition for what he brings to the table. He's a long, wiry off-guard prospect with an understanding of how to maximize his role on both ends of the floor. Morgan is a terrific shot-maker, especially of the catch, and primarily looks to apply scoring pressure from midrange or beyond the arc. He's also a capable cutter, defender, and rebounder with the tools to attack closeouts if necessary.' Which was later followed by, 'Although it was undeniably a team effort from the Furies, Morgan definitely stepped up and shined as a leader in this contest. He's a long, tough, shot-maker with deep range and the ability to apply useful scoring pressure from all three levels. Morgan is at his best off the catch, but more than capable of creating and knocking down shots off the bounce if needed. He also regularly found ways to hit turnarounds in the midrange.'

Throughout the course of the high school season, Morgan has only further solidified himself as a college-level player. His three-point shooting alone would warrant attention from various programs, but he's continually shown more and more of his game. Morgan can comfortably attack closeouts, pull-up from midrange, or find opportunities without the ball. Though his mechanics are slightly unorthodox, he hits shots at a very high percentage. As one of the lone seniors on this roster, Morgan has been the guy to step up and shine during critical situations for the Furies. He's also a reliable defender and capable rebounder who understands how to make the extra pass whenever available. Morgan will end up at the next level, and various programs should be vying for his services.
