Player: Dwight Canady
Class: 2022
School: Hendersonville

Season: Canady has been off the charts this season for Hendersonville, really showing how dynamic he can be as a scorer. He helped lead the charge for the Bearcats, averaging 27.0 points, 3.6 assists, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game, all while shooting 45 percent from the floor, hitting 78 three-pointers, shooting 38 percent from behind the arc, and his ability to get to the free-throw line (123 made free throws).

Canady has shown that he can effectively score from multiple levels of the floor, knocking down shots from outside but also finishing well.  He creates well off the bounce and is at his best when he is in attack mode, looking to score. But that doesn't mean he makes selfish plays, also finding his teammates open as well and making the right decision.  Canady has shown that on countless occasions throughout his high school career and on multiple platforms with Phenom Hoops.

The senior guard has cemented himself in the history of the Hendersonville program, as he surpassed the 2,000-point mark recently, has won several awards over his career, and was also announced the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference Player of the Year.

Canady is still one that is available and should be looked at by college coaches.

What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Next, we look at a player that arguably stood out as the most productive all-around performer on this team, Dwight Canady. He's a smart, well-rounded guard prospect with leadership qualities and the ability to dictate the action on either end of the floor. Canady is an efficient floor general with an excellent balance between defense, playmaking, and three-level scoring. He's a reliable defender with great instincts and the tools to apply constant pressure in transition. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him even tougher for opponents to contain. Coach Collins on Canady: 'I love Dwight's game and his ability to shoot the ball very well without thinking twice about it. He has a bright future being a lefty guard. His form is pretty smooth and doesn't hit rim too often. I love his attitude on and off the court. Overall, Dwight is just a good basketball player and great kid. He needs to rebound just a little bit more and will be great.' Canady made a lasting impression at camp and should be poised for a very productive senior season as a focal point for Hendersonville.' – Phenom 150 camp in 2021

'Senior guard, Dwight Canady, led the way for Hendersonville, finishing with a game-high 29 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal. Canady scored the ball efficiently from all levels of the court. He showcased his ability to knock down shots from the perimeter with three made three-pointers. In addition, he was excellent creating off the bounce and getting into the paint. To start the third quarter, he had a crafty spin move and finished with the and-one layup. then he followed that up the next play, splitting the ball screen and getting to the cup. In addition, he led his team with 5 assists, showing that he is able to both facilitate and score the ball when necessary. Canady continues to have a special senior year and has Hendersonville in the mix for another 2A NCHSAA state championship run. Canady is another senior guard deserving of more college interest with his ability to run the show and score the basketball.' – Game Report in 2022
