Down at Riverside high school in Williamston, North Carolina sits a very intriguing prospect that honestly, may get overlooked at times. But with his unique feel, versatility, frame, and game, he should possibly be looked at as one of the top prospects in his class.

2022 6’7 Avion Pinner has been a very popular name this summer with Phenom Hoops. He is one that some may have not seen a lot of but once you do, you can instantly see the intrigue with his game. Pinner has developed his game into being a dominant prospect on the court at Riverside HS, going from 6.8ppg, 4.2rpg as a freshman to then posting numbers like 20.7ppg, 12.0rpg, 2.2spg, and 1.7bpg in 27 games as a sophomore.

Now, he was a big figure for Garner Road this summer, playing multiple times on the Phenom Hoops platform. Patrick O’Brien had this to say back in August about Pinner, as he was putting up impressive numbers once again.

“2022 6’7 Avion Pinner is such a unique prospect and will be a big-time target for many schools. One can easily see why when you watch him bringing it up the court, operating along the perimeter, and his timing around the rim.”

He then came an participated in the North Carolina Top 80, where we had this to say:

“He's a long, wiry, well-rounded forward prospect with the ability to legitimately toggle between three or four positions defensively. Pinner is an excellent rebounder with the necessary skill to reliably push the break in transition and finish or set up others with ease. He's a useful cutter and penetrator with an improving perimeter jumper from midrange and beyond the arc. Pinner handles the ball well for his size and displays smart decision-making with the ball in his hands.”

In all, he can be a tough matchup on the floor with his continuing growth in his game and how one can use him in multiple areas on the floor. It is why he has already earned offers from East Carolina and FIU and why those two programs have continued to stay in the picture.

But when talking to Pinner, schools like Oklahoma State, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia State, Charlotte, VCU, Auburn, and Wake Forest have all shown some type of interest in the past few months as well.

It can be tough with Pinner playing far east in North Carolina, as many may not get a chance to watch him but this is yet another eastern North Carolina prospect that looks to be one of the premier talents in the class of 2022.

Watch out for another big season from the forward. He will be a name to remember.
