The Phenom Summer Havoc Session 1 and Session 2 have come and gone and college coaches had a chance to check out a ton of talent on display. There were several big names and big performances on display but we want to shed more light on players that have gone a little under the radar but could be a topic of discussion (or should be) for college coaches to start looking at more. Of course, there were several players that made a name for themselves but here are just a few that really stood out in my eyes.

2023 Luke Carter (Pro One TN): Carter had a terrific week of basketball for his team, leading much of the way and opening a few eyes to what he could provide on the court. He is just continuing to show more of what he did last high school season, in which he averaged 21ppg and earned multiple accomplishments. A 1,000-point scorer in high school, Carter really showed how scrappy he can be on the floor as well as his ability to be a 3-level scorer. The 6’1 guard shot the ball well from the perimeter, displays a great understanding and feel for the game, makes plays in the open floor, pushes it well in transition and was able to get inside the defense on several occasions.

2023 Titus Ivy (PUSH NC): It was great to see the 6’4 prospect on the court, as he has had to face some injuries as of late that he looks to be recovering from well and is back to himself once again. Ivy really is one that can catch your eye with his athleticism and ability to take advantage of the mismatch on the court. He possesses the size and strength to bully smaller defenders and finish at the rim, but also the versatility to make plays outside and in transition. Ivy plays hard and can be physical on both ends of the court, while also being able to guard multiple positions on the court. Think he is only going to build off what he was able to show at the Summer Havoc.

2023 Khalil Genwright (WBC): Here is another player that has been consistent for much of the summer but continues to fall under the radar. He is a 6’4 prospect that is the definition of tough; Genwright battles, plays with something to prove, and comes out each time to show that he can be a player to contribute at the next level. He does a great job in creating for himself, breaking down defenders off the dribble and getting into the paint to finish through contact. Really do believe that this young man will only help a team, as well as give them great size at his position and a player that wants to only get better.

2023 Jayden Boyd (York County Legends): Boyd is one of those players that I don’t quite understand why schools don’t look at more but think it will just take some time. But when you are looking at a 6’6 prospect that can create such a tough matchup for opponents and is one that is still developing, Boyd is one to keep an eye on. With his frame and activity level down low, as well as his ability to step out and put the ball on the deck, Boyd is a player that could be a nice piece down the road. Really like his presence around the basket, he is active on the glass, capable of hitting shots, finishes well, and simply continues to produce.
