The Spartans are making a lot of noise this week, as they have been hitting the recruiting trail and securing some big commitments.  As of late, UNCG has been able to pick up three big recruits, all of which recently played here in North Carolina.

2024 Sean Birmingham
2024 Isaiah Washington
2024 Clinton Efinda (formerly at Ellsworth Community College)

All three should be big pieces in the coming future for UNCG, as they bring something unique with their game.

Birmingham was the first to commit, as the 6’8 prospect recently played at Concord Academy and switched from Indiana State to the Spartans. Birmingham is a skilled prospect that can operate and be effective in a variety of ways, knocking down shots from multiple levels, picking and popping, creating off the dribble, and having a smooth release; he should be able to be a versatile piece on the court.

On Wednesday, UNCG added two other recruits in Washington and Efinda. Washington is a strong scoring guard who has a blend of size, ability to get to the rim and finish, score off the bounce, and knock down shots.  He also has the size that can be effective in several areas of the court. Efinda, who is coming off a strong season in which he averaged 15 points, should bring some excitement with his athleticism, his strength, and ability to bully defenders.

UNCG continues to show its effort in recruiting in their backyard, as they have been able to secure big recruits in the past that are clear pieces in leading the team.  Now, they have continued that trend with three big in-state prospects that should be future building blocks for this program.
