Tyler Fearne 'Stepping Up”

For 6'6 'reclassed junior' Tyler Fearne, he has been quietly binding his time. Last season, Fearne played for Hickory Ridge High School. He transferred to Concord First Assembly and had the luxury to reclass which gives him another year of high school basketball. Fearne is a super slender wing that needs to gain additional strength and weight. That being said, Fearne made the most of the opportunity given to him and his performance at the Carmel Christian Tip Off Classic just may be the spark to jump start his college recruitment

In the game against uber athletic and talented Moravian Prep, Fearne did what he does best and that is shoot the cover off the ball. In 11 minutes of play, Fearne went an efficient 4-5 from the floor, including 3-4 from the 3-point line for 11 points. In the Saturday win over Northwood Temple, Concord First Assembly was struggling along in a nip and tuck battle. Leads exchanged hands several times until the fourth quarter which Fearne put his signature and explanation mark on the 76-56 win. In the game against Northwood Temple, finished with a game high 23 points, going 8-13 from the floor and 7-12 from the 3-point line. In addition, Fearne collected six rebounds, dished out two assists, had two blocks and even recorded two steals. This all-around performance earned him game MVP honors.

As the old saying goes, 'do your work early' and for Tyler Fearne, he simple adheres to this by always being in a position to get his shot off quickly and accurately. He has tremendous footwork, a quick release and proved he too is in the conversation as one of the best pure shooters in the state. In the two games against strong and stiff competition, Fearne went 10-16 from the 3-point line for an impressive 63% 3-point shooting percentage. For a team that returns a solid core of returning players, Tyler Fearne may just end up being that missing piece to return Concord First Assembly to that state championship run.
