East Carolina Elite 2024 has become a staple and one of the usuals we have seen this summer with Phenom Hoops.' Every time we have seen them compete on the court, this is a program that has gained our attention and competed on the court.' What makes this team so interesting to watch is that this is a team made up of players you don't always get to see on the east coast region of North Carolina. But that doesn't mean that there isn't talent to be found.

When talking about this team, there are two young prospects that have been a consistent threat on the court and have been standouts on multiple occasions; 2024 6'4 Amari Latham and 2025 6'0 Hayes Oxendine.

Latham is a highly intriguing 6'4 that can fill up the stat sheet.' Offensively, he plays bigger than listed especially with his versatility and athleticism.' He can be a double-double type player that is just scratching the surface of what he could be at the end but has taken the necessary steps in his game.' Latham runs the floor, can operate in all areas of the floor, defend multiple positions, and can be a force on the boards.

Oxendine, only a rising freshman, has led the charge countless times for East Carolina.' Where he excels is his perimeter game, showcasing his ability to get to his spots and confidently be a threat from outside.' On multiple occasions, he posed as that threat from three, knocking down three, four, five, or more from outside and really opening up the offense.' Now, it will be interesting to see how his game continues to grow and develop, but there is no lack of confidence in his game as just an incoming freshman.

East Carolina Elite 2024 has several intriguing, young talent but these two prospects were a key part to the success this summer for the program. Furthermore, these two young and rising prospects should be ones that make several watch lists in the near future.
