The landscape in WNC has changed with so many major moves. I know it's football season & which always plays a major role in the mountains but I'm looking forward to basketball season. Here we take a look at some more transfers in WNC for the upcoming 2021-22 season. No particular order.'

6'7' Jake McTaggart (Towns County -> Hayesville) this football star is coming back home after winning a basketball state championship in Georgia. Jake is a tough cover & a match-up nightmare in his conference bc of his size & athleticism. Plus he's not afraid to shoot outside. He's just what Hayesville needed to try to make a run again in the 1A State Championships.

6'9' Anthony Robinson (Starr's Mill GA -> Christ School) this kid as the opportunity to be a special player & should climb up the ranks in NC. I got the opportunity to see Anthony play at the U.S. Basketball Games a couple weeks ago. He attacks the basket with a combination of speed & force. Gets up & down the court & plays his role. Excellent rebounder & defender.

5'9' Quentin Rice (Freedom -> Patton) quick guard with handles & vision. I think he excels the most when he's trying to get others involved by penetrating & dishing to teammates. Nice layup package with an array of dribbling combos. I think he will be effective at being a leader for Patton & with him could make some major noise in his conference.'

6'0' Daylin Pritchard (Freedom -> Draughn) is a tough guard with a high IQ. Scores the ball & takes good shots. Gritty player that can play good on-ball defense. Was a key piece for Freedom last year & he will be missed. I think he's in store for a great senior season.'

6'10' Devin Brafford (Tuscola -> Rabun-Gap) younger brother of standout Nate Brafford. Devin is starting to develop the same skill set. Length mixed with shooting is a deadly combination & after talking to some college coaches they're starting to take notice. The kid is going to be special without a doubt!!'

6'5' Matthew Pethel (TC Roberson -> Christ School) was one of the best big men in his conference last year for TC. Pethel is going to a stacked Christ School roster. I expect him to play a solid role for them giving them extra size. He can rebound, block shots, & get some buckets.'
