Recently our news feeds are full of high clip shot takers, dunk makers, and human highlight films. Big names are fun to watch and follow, they're what most everyone talks about because they have the views and can fare. However, do those players play within the game, and will their teams to win games, do they make their teams better, are they making selfless plays or shoot at a high percentage'

This weekend at the Phenom Fall Finale we witnessed an extremely impressive and efficient duo, a true throwback to what the game was like in the past versus the new wave trends of today’s game. The duo features a traditional pass-first point guard and old school center who big plays like a center, both embracing their unique roles. Each player ran plays, shot a high percentage and most importantly they made their team better!!

5'10 Colin Fayed 2023 – is a throwback traditional pass-first floor general, prototypical point guard. But, don't let that fool you because he is a dual-threat with outstanding combo guard skills who can really stroke the ball!! He's excellent at the pick & roll game, has a tight handle, and always protects the rock. Colin is a solid defender who is always up for the task of picking up the opposing team’s top ball handler. Oh and don't let him get you off the dribble because his midrange jumper is money!!

7'0 Micah Handlogten 2022 – is a traditional big man who plays like a big man, a center that blocks shots, is a relentless rebounder, and takes control of a game by working inside the paint for high percentage looks. You can pencil him in for a double double each game before he even hits the floor. As impressive as his traditional style of play, Micah really runs the floor extremely well in transition especially for his size and is very athletic. Also, his rim protection and shot altering abilities make his value even more next level, this kid is a dog!!

Both of these players are the glue and anchor for their Upward Stars 704 team, it's not a fluke they've now won 16 of their last 18 games. Two dynamic leaders who are so unselfish and truly put a premium on winning, they are high IQ difference makers. Micah and Colin embody 'traditional basketball' in every sense of the game, but just know it's not because they can't be like everyone else….rather they are consciously choosing to not be like everyone else and have become game-changers for their team’s success!! This will be a fun pair to keep your eye on over the next couple of years.
