14U Champion: Team Loaded

The youngest team to claim a title this weekend was Team Loaded's eighth-grade group, which is full of intriguing young prjospects. This team consistently faced adversity, but never wavered, and put themselves in the title game as a result. Their point guard play was excellent, particularly from Jacob Newman, but without their size down low they wouldn't have been in this contest. Guys like Jeremy Gregory and Luke Bracey worked all weekend on the glass, and it paid off in the championship, as they claimed the 14U trophy.

15U Champion: Team CP3

There were many unselfish squads on display at our Champion Showcase, but few showcased a better team concept than Team CP3 of rising freshmen. This group plays incredibly hard and has a roster full of guys capable of contributing. Which was just the case, as everyone had a hand in this win and their various other victories throughout the weekend. It would be difficult to not enjoy this team, given their roster full of quality prospects. Their point guard position is locked up, between Cam Oates and James Wilkins. Kheni Briggs, Freddie Dillone, and Julius Reese all have distinguishable qualities that make each of them extremely vital to this team. Despite all the aforementioned guys, the frontcourt duo of Shane Fernald and Bryce Scott were incredibly effective on both sides of the ball, and deserve recognition for their efforts amongst the trees down low.

16U Champion: Team Loaded

One could make a legitimate argument that this Team Loaded squad had the most entertaining collection of basketball talent of any program in attendance, and they'd have a case. These guys were the most dominant group by far and showed no mercy, crushing their opponents from start to finish on both ends of the floor. Justin Wright was, in many ways, the calming point guard presence that led them down stretch while the high-motor Daquon Stewart was a perfect complement to the lead guard. That being said, the frontcourt pairing of Omarion Jay and Dean Reiber is downright lethal and should give opponents problems for the rest of the summer. Team Loaded certainly earned this title and will be incredibly fun to watch throughout July.

17U Champion: Team Winston

Everyone gets excited for the oldest age division, especially when it involves a team as well-rounded as Team Winston. These guys were exceptional from the opening game on Saturday morning. Their point guard, Quinton Morton, scored the ball particularly well all weekend and led this team whenever they were in need of points. Mysta Goodloe also carried a heavy load on both ends of the floor, but also showed his ability to score whenever he desires. Meanwhile, the big man of Zack Austin and Owen McCormack really hurt opposing teams, since they possess the ability to play inside-out with relative ease. Add in the athleticism of Miles Jones and the shooting of Mikey Walton, and this squad breezed their way to a 17U title.
