Three NC Phenom Alum Named to USA Men’s basketball U16 Team
The pinnacle of an athlete’s career, the highest level of achievement, is when you put on your nation’s colors and are afforded the opportunity to represent your country in international play. National championships, state championships, All-American status, they are all incredible accomplishments (and not to be taken lightly) however, being named as one of your country’s best is another level.

Thirty-two of the nation’s top 16u prospects were invited out to five training camp sessions in Colorado Springs, Colorado. These thirty-two prospects were hand-picked to come by the seven man committee. These thirty-two prospects will compete for the twelve man roster that will travel to Argentina in June and compete in the FIBA 16u World Championships.

Making the team representing the USA in the FIBA 16u World Championships is no small accomplishment. This is an event that happens every two years and was first started in 2009. Team USA has won the initial four 16u World Championships and done so in spectacular fashion, holding a current 20-0 record.

This honor is a big deal, so it is of the utmost respect that we congratulate all the players who made the final twelve man roster. Three stand out in our eyes as they are each alums of multiple Phenom Hoops events.

6’6” 2019 Wendell Moore
Cox Mill High School (Concord, NC)
CP3 All Stars 16s

Moore has been to numerous Phenom events throughout the years, including NC Junior Phenom’s, NC Top 80s, High School Showcases and Travel Ball Tournaments. Moore is an elite player, still under rated by the scouts on the national scene. He has great size and court sense and he is rapidly getting a dominating mind set. Moore is the Top player in North Carolina’s 2019 class and should be considered one of the top 15 in the country.

5’10” 2021 Zion Harmon
Bowling Green High School (Bowling Green, KY)
Boo Williams 17s

Harmon has been coming to Phenom events since 6th grade, of course that sounds impressive, however considering he is only in the 8th grade it puts it into perspective. Harmon is the 1st 8th grader ever to be invited to the 16u USA team tryouts, and there he goes making the team. Harmon has played on the 17u version of the EYBL for two years already. He is an alum of multiple NC Junior Phenom camps, with more to come.

6’10” 2020 Isaiah Todd
John Marshall High School (Richmond, VA)
Team Loaded Va 16s

Some have called Todd the top prospect in high school basketball, regardless of class. While we have not seen every player who plays high school basketball, we have seen a good number of the ones who are highly thought of, we cannot disagree with this statement. He has incredible size, length and mobility to go along with a true skill set and an incredibly high IQ. Todd is a special player and also an alum of multiple Virginia Top 80 and travel ball events.
