Just a few weeks back, Lady Phenom Hoops was on deck at the North Meck Invitational as we had a great opportunity to watch teams and players in action.  One player that we walked away impressed with was 2026 Kiara Anderson from East Lincoln.

When you scout young talent, you sometimes just have a feeling that this is a player to really watch especially with the flashes and the potential she has in her game. Anderson was one of those players for me personally when we watched her.  The entire time, we were impressed with her skillset, her feel, her craftiness, her ability to make plays off the dribble, her balance, her court awareness, and her ability to create her own shot.  Anderson showed it all at the event, which is why we believe the 5’6 guard from East Lincoln should start seeing more attention her way.

We have seen her a few times now, and she continues to get better and better every time we see her. At the NC Lady Top 80, here was her evaluation:

“She’s a young, smart, skilled guard prospect with a really high motor and well-rounded skillset. Anderson is a knockdown shooting threat from midrange or beyond the arc, but also actively looks to attack closeouts and finish or make the necessary pass to set up others. She’s a menacing defender with the combination of energy and instincts to force turnovers at a strong rate.”

And then we had this to say after the North Meck Invitational:

“Anderson was a name that really popped out for me when watching her. She was electric with the ball in her hands, as she was incredibly shifty, was able to create space off the dribble, facilitate and get by defenders, and score from a variety of levels.  She is one that should have the attention of college coaches quickly in what she can do on the court.”

Though it is still early, Anderson would be a name that I would closely look at if I was a college program and some have already done so. No offers yet, but from what we saw at the event, that could quickly change.
