Columbia, SC – Ben Lippen School will hold host to the 2nd Annual Phenom’s Capital City Jam, set to take place this Saturday, December 15. The event is set to host eight of the premier teams from around North and South Carolina,
The 2nd Annual Phenom’s Capital City Jam will feature some of the hottest names with college coaches. 6’8″ junior Jaden Seymour of Northside Christian is about to break into the Top 75 nationally, already carrying NC State and Virginia Tech offers. 6’8″ junior Josh Hall and 6’3″ unsigned senior Caleb Burgess of Moravian Prep who have each had a litany of college coaches watching every game they play. Not to mention VCU was in to watch 5’11” unsigned senior Mikey Dukes this week, as purely a basketball talent
Speaking of 6’8″ Josh Hall, he recently made waves this week when he announced that he was going to reclassify and become a junior. This opened up a lot of doors as the likes of Pittsburgh, Providence, Maryland, Arkansas and others will now be in heavy pursuit of the young man.
Overtime Sports has taken notice of the talent who will be playing in Ben Lippen’s main gym on Saturday. 6’7″ senior Marlow Gilmore of Hunter Kinard Tyler broke the internet when his 2-handed, in game dunk from the free throw line went viral with millions of views. On Wednesday, Overtime got their hands on the body Lakewood’s 6’5″ junior Quentin Hodge caught in their Tuesday night game. The Gilmore dunk had more views, 247,000 views with 15,000 likes, than any video put on the Overtime platform. Hodge’s dunk had 29,000 views and 2,000 likes, which is more than most. Without question, the public has marveled at these young men’s ability.
Lakewood senior Juwan Perdue and Hunter Kinard Tyler senior Marlow Gilmore were voted SCBCA Top 5 seniors for the state of South Carolina. Also, Lee Central (2A), Hunter Kinard Tyler (1A) and Lakewood (4A) are each currently ranked by the SCBCA in the Top 3 in the state. The talent level here is off the charts.
Already committed to you have 4-star Juwan Gary of Liberty Heights who will be at Alabama next season and 6’7″ Juwan Perdue of Lakewood who has inked his signature with Jacksonville State.
