The John Wall Holiday Invitational moved onto the semifinal game, as Morris Catholic and Apex Friendship were set to face off. The Crusaders entered this contest following a lopsided win yesterday, where they highlighted consistent dominance on both ends of the floor, and looked poised to compete with anyone in the field. On the other side, Apex Friendship also secured a massive victory yesterday through their balance and inside-out approach. Everything was set for an exciting showdown.

Things kicked off in somewhat of a slow, yet competitive fashion, as both teams came out consistently getting defensive stops and pushing the break in transition. It was tied 8-8 after the first eight minutes of play. The second quarter remained entertaining but neither team was able to gain a ton of separation, as Morris Catholic held a slight 19-16 lead entering halftime. Following the break, both squads began to heat up offensively and combined for their highest combined point total in any quarter. The Crusaders maintained a 33-27 advantage to start the final period of play. Although things were shaping up to be a neck-and-neck battle until the final buzzer, Morris Catholic simply took over and never looked back. After outscoring their opponent 18-5 in the final eight minutes, Morris Catholic secured a 51-32 victory over Apex Friendship.
