The John Wall Holiday Invitational carried onward with a showcase game between Legacy Early College and 1 of 1 Academy. Both teams proved themselves in showcase battles yesterday, as each earned a victory in their respective contests, and looked poised to bring another entertaining battle to Raleigh. The Lions have garnered national attention for quite a while, and their current roster is no different. Whether it's size, guard play, or versatile pieces, they have it. On the other side, 1 of 1 Academy is already transforming into a powerhouse program despite being in just its second season of existence. Either way, the stage was set for an exciting showdown.

It didn't take long for these teams to display why they were featured in a special matchup, as the competitive, back-and-forth nature began from the opening tip. The Lions played exceptionally well through their slew of talented guards and held a 15-14 lead after the first quarter, but 1 of 1 remained steady on both ends of the floor. The second period offered more of the same, as the two squads traded buckets and kept the deficit within one or two possessions. At halftime, the Lions held a 31-29 lead over 1 of 1 Academy. Following the break, Legacy Early College began extending the gap through strong defensive play and maintaining their offensive consistency from the previous half. After establishing a double-digit lead at 47-37 to close the third quarter, the Lions were able to control things for the final eight minutes and secure a 60-51 victory over 1 of 1 Academy.
