The John Wall Holiday Invitational kicked off its second day of action with a contest between Quality Education and Green Level High School. Both teams entered this showing looking for redemption after suffering losses yesterday. The opening quarter was pretty lopsided in favor of the Pharaohs, as they put together a solid scoring display and shut down the opposition on the other end to capture a 15-6 lead entering halftime.
For a game that started out in a fairly sluggish, low-scoring manner, these two squads ended up putting forth a pretty exciting battle. Following the break, the Gators began hitting their stride offensively in the third quarter, but struggled to get stops and trailed 28-16. However, the final period of play featured a strong surge from Green Level. They forced turnovers, converted offensively, and put themselves in a position to take the lead on multiple possessions. Despite winning the second half and making a strong push in the closing minutes, the Gators suffered a 35-32 defeat to Quality Education.
