The John Wall Holiday Invitational carried onward with a contest between Clayton High School and North Pitt High School. The Panthers entered this game on the heels of suffering only their second loss of the season yesterday. Meanwhile, the Comets have seen some ups and downs throughout the season but simply know how to compete against all types of opponents. Things kicked off in complete favor of North Pitt, as their guard play pushed the pace and set the tone on both ends of the floor. They controlled the action for the opening minutes and led 23-12 after the first quarter. Clayton remained scrappy in the second period, showing some resilience and working to close the deficit. However, North Pitt held a 32-22 going into halftime.

After the break, the Panthers really began to take over and start clicking on all cylinders. It didn't take long for their healthy lead to extend beyond the twenty-point mark, as they were getting everyone involved and scoring the ball at an efficient rate. Despite a solid second half from the Comets, North Pitt secured a 71-47 victory over Clayton.
