Simply stated, 6’4 Butler commit Cooper Neese has the “it” factor. At the 2nd Annual Indy Top 80 event, Cooper showcased his complete all around game. This season, he is averaging 30.7 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 2.9 APG and 2.5 SPG, not to mention an impressive 3.4 GPA. Can you say “student athlete”?

On December 3rd, Cooper scored career high 53 points including 10 3-pointers.

Does this surprise us, not at all! First of all, we’re talking about a young player that has a unique blend of fundamentals, high basketball IQ, and athleticism. He is blessed with a nice basketball frame. Standing a solid 6’4, Cooper has a 6’7 wingspan, 8’1 reach and a 31-inch standing vertical. White boy can jump! Camp coach Joey Burton stated it best, “Cooper uses his quick release off the catch and dribble to make shots. He has unlimited range, but more importantly plays hard on both ends of the court.”

Cooper continues to fly under the national radar and that’s plenty fine with him. He committed early to Butler University and may have found the right fit for his style of play. In our opinion, he is the perfect player for the “Butler Way,” and should flourish in their system. Butler fans will be impressed with his competitive yet humble demeanor on and off the court. Cooper plays at a high level and his confidence, poise, and maturity impressed his future teammates repeatedly in open gym during the past summer.

Cooper has a unique skill set and the crafty guard has a game that should transition very well at the collegiate level. In addition, he is a willing defender and understands team defensive philosophies, which will dovetail nicely with the defensive scheme at Butler. That being said, Butler fans better get ready, this young man can flat fill it up and has uncanny range from the 3-point line.
