The big names were out and about at the Summer Havoc, bringing a ton of talent that you may have already heard about. However, there were several other teams that caught our eyes with their play in Rock Hill; ones that may not always get the attention they deserve. Here are three teams that caught my eyes, whether it was their energy, their style of play, or their competitiveness.

Carolina Bad Boyz 16u

This is a team that continues to rack up the wins and absolutely brings it every time they step on the court.  They did so once again at the Summer Havoc, bringing a ton of energy and love that they come out to prove themselves each time.  That they did' and this should be a team that college coaches should look at and keep on their radar.  Players like 2023 Darren Lloyd, 2023 Zandae Butler, 2023 Orlando Hudson, 2023 Merel Burgess, 2023 Bryson Graves, and others all play with such determination.  You can see that this team buys in and absolutely love to defend and get after it, play scrappy on both ends, and really come to show that they belong with some of the better teams out there.  They deserve the recognition and they should be a team to watch this summer.

Carolina Gaters Black 2022

For a team that didn't have two of their top players on the court, the Gaters were quite impressive and competed all throughout the Summer Havoc.  Unfortunately, they lost Nolan Hodge early and Josh Scovens wasn't available but that didn't stop this team in coming out and punching some teams in the mouth.  2022 Brent Randleman showed the ability to score with his long body, get to his spots, and create for himself.  2023 6'6 Julius Harrison really stepped up and boosted his stock, showing his impact on the floor with his toughness, his versatility, and productivity on the court.  Harrison flourished in several areas on the court, bringing a defensive mentality and one that can knock down shots or aggressively get to the lane. 2021 6'7 Caleb Farrish is a wiry forward that battled down low with some of the best and competed in the paint, got on the boards, and ran the floor.  And then you also had other players like 2022 Connor Ballou, 2022 Jackson Helms, and others elevate their play.  I was really impressed with what they all showed throughout the event.

York County Legends

When rolling through the boxscores throughout the weekend, the York County Legends is one team that popped into my head and stayed there throughout.' Putting up some impressive offensive numbers and getting a chance to slide down and watch them in action, this is a program that provides some underrated yet intriguing talent.' 2023 6'2 Donovan Kirk was a monster for much of the weekend, really displaying his offensive capabilities and scoring the ball effectively.' Time after time, he led the team and posted some strong numbers.' 2023 6'7 Jayden Boyd is another intriguing, versatile prospect that can assert himself down low but also operate in several other areas.' And that doesn't even mention other guards like 2023 AJ Smith, 2023 Kanye Nelson, and 2023 Williams Brooks, all of which stepped up when called upon.' This is a team to start really keeping track of throughout the summer
