Central Cabarrus puts on a show and showcases their power in front of their home crowd
The Phenom Ish Smith Showcase was tremendous, and the crowd at Central Cabarrus certainly showed up and showed out for this event at their home gym. Central Cabarrus came out strong in both games, taking care of business in convincing fashion against The Burlington School and Hickory Ridge. They continue to fly high and strong, creating havoc defensively and offensively, and showing just how strong they are in being regarded as the top team in the state of North Carolina. Another impressive showing and they gave their crowd an absolute show.
Players Hitting the 1,000-point mark
We had two players that hit a monumental mark in their high school career, as 2024 Carson Daniel hit the 1,000-point mark on Day 2 against Hickory Ridge, an extra special moment in front of his home crowd. 2024 Joe Rhyne also hit the 1,000-point mark at Gaston Christian, as the sharp-shooter was able to reach that mark on Day 1. Congrats to both on excellent high school careers so far.
Forsyth Country Day secures two Big Wins
FCDS continues to show why they are looking like a dangerous team, as they recorded two strong wins at the event against Concord Academy and The Burlington School. 2024 Bobby Cannon and 2026 Q Williams led the charge on both days, but this is a team that when it all comes together, can be very dangerous and has the talent to compete big-time for a title this year.
Carmel Christian, United Faith, and Covenant Day get strong wins
Carmel Christian got an overtime victory on Day 2 against Concord Academy, with 2024 Kameron Taylor helping lead the charge; he continues to prove that he is one of the best-unsigned seniors in the region. United Faith brought a balanced attack inside and out against Rabun Gap, with 2025 JD Bowden and 2024 Isaiah Sutherland both making plays. Covenant Day was strong both offensively and defensively against Davidson Day, knocking them off by double-digits with strong guard play.
Weddington Duo Looks Impressive
What a thriller it was between Gaston Christian and Weddington, as Weddington was able to claw back once down by 15 points in the first half to secure a 3-point win. 2024 Grant Hamilton and 2025 KJ Younger continue to lead a strong attack for Weddington, as this is quietly becoming one of the more underrated duos in the area. Time to start recognizing these two for this team.
