What is this Talk About the Kai Sotto and KJ Martin?
Both of these players have the professional ranks on their minds after their prep careers are over. It will be interesting to see how they look at this point in the season.
Sotto is one of the most talked-about players in the country, and many have still not seen him. Of course, we have all watched the clips of him and 7’2” lefty with skill will obviously pique everyone’s interest. However, we are excited to see what kind of progression he has made.
KJ Martin is the son of former NBA #1 pick Kenyon Martin. He was committed to Vanderbilt but opted for IMG and then the league. Martin is a 6’6” ball of strength and athleticism. Defensively is where his mark will be made and it will be interesting to see how his game has developed down at IMG.
Is Hargrave the Top Team in the Country
They have beaten Oak Hill and Huntington Prep in scrimmages, both teams have been in the top 10 this season. They went up to Hoop Hall, over MLK weekend and absolutely wrecked shop on ESPN. They have done it behind the play of Georgia signee, and top 100 ranked KD Johnson, Tennessee signee, and top 100 ranked Corey Walker and Missouri State signee AJ James. Then they have a lot of depth on the floor, with size athleticism and length. Look out for 7’ junior Gabe Wiznitzer, 6’10” unsigned senior Abba Lawal and 5’10” unsigned senior Bryson Childress. There are others, but this team is as deep as any Hargrave team in recent memory, very talented and will look to hold serve on their home court.
Femi Odukale is one of the Hottest Unsigned Senior Names in the Country
After a very strong Hoop Hall event, which saw his Springfield Commonwealth team take away two wins, Odukale has worked his way into becoming one of the hottest unsigned senior prospects in the country. Just in the last week, he picked up offers from both Virginia Tech and Seton Hall. He is a unique type of player, who plays with a high motor, along with great strength and athleticism, shining with versatility on the defensive end. Offensively, he plays with vision, pace and the ability to play in the half-court or initiate in the full court. His star is on the rise.
Is David Jones one of the Most Underrated Players in the Country
he 6’6” lefty wing carries offers from Oregon and Houston, two programs who are recruiting at a very high level right now. He has spent his last few summers as the leading scorer for the Dominican Republic national team, in his age group. He is also averaging over 25 per game this season, playing a national schedule. So all of these things check the box. Yet, not many people are talking about him yet as one of the premier scoring wings in the junior class. This weekend he will have a matchup against Combine Academy, who has 5-Star sophomore Pittsburgh signee Jalen Hood Schifino and Liberty Heights, who has a slew of players with length and athleticism. Watch him closely.
The Unsigned Seniors
hile this event carries eleven players already committed to colleges, the amount of unsigned seniors is immense with over 20 unsigned seniors already carrying Division 1 offers. Of course, this comes in tiers as you have guys like Odukale who is getting the high major love, but the depth of low and mid-major talent is where the talent lives here. There are mid to mid plus bigs, low major guards, mid-major wings and everything in between. This event is a no-brainer for schools that are still on the hunt, and we are excited to provide that platform.
