Player: Jaevian Alston
Class: 2025
Height: 6’6
School: Word of God
Even though there are several names off the board for the Class of 2025, that doesn’t mean there still isn’t talent available here in North Carolina. Looking around the state, there are still prospects that can help programs at the next level, and one of them has to be 2025 6’6 Jaevian Alston from Word of God.
Alston has been a huge piece all season long for Word of God, and we got a first-hand look this year at the Tyler Lewis Hoopfest where we had this to say:
“Alston was able to flourish big-time as a versatile piece on the court at 6’6. He really can flourish in various roles, with today showing his ability to score inside and out, play off the ball to knock down shots from the perimeter, create for himself, and get to the basket. I liked his overall impact on the court, as he finished with 24 big points to lead the way.”
At 6’6 and with his overall skillset, Alston shows that he can flourish in a variety of ways. He operates and scores from multiple levels, he excels in getting downhill and using his size to his advantage, he can hurt you from behind the arc and is a capable defender at several positions. As Alston would describe himself, he is a Swiss-army knight on the court. And what impresses is that he able to operate within the offense and provide what is needed, but he has shown his ability to be assertive and put his team on his back when needed.
When talking to Alston, he mentioned that there were a few schools that have been expressing interest late, including Howard and Winston-Salem State. So we are eager to see which school is able to land a valuable piece like Alston, as he has proven he is a next-level prospect that is still available.
