6’7 Patrick Tivnan of Team HOPE Laney 2023 has steadily improved his game over the past summer. He has worked on his ability to be able to push the ball in transition and has developed a nice jumper from midrange. He is an active forward who is a high-quality rebounder while also being an offensive threat in the paint. He has nice length and a strong frame that allows him to be a good paint protector while also showing the ability to be a versatile defender. The jump he has made from last summer leads me to wonder what he will look like in a year or so. He has the potential to be a very good player as he continues his development.. College Coaches should begin tracking him now!
6’8 Khouri Carvey ’22 of Team Trezz had himself a great weekend as he was able to showcase his versatile skillset. His ability to play both inside and out while also being a high-level rebounder left many impressed. He has a developing frame that will be able to translate to the next level. He has great footwork in the post and a great touch around the rim. He also displayed a nice jumper that was able to extend out to the three. With his size and skill set, he has a chance to become a high-quality player. Scholarship-level coaches should already have him on their list!
6’7 Tony Carpio of Atlanta Allstars 2022 is a super athletic forward who showed flashes of high-level basketball. He is a great rebounder in the paint with the ability to push the ball in transition and hit open teammates. He has a nice IQ that allows him to know his teammates and where they will be before they get there. He has a strong frame that allows him to bully his way to the paint, using a combination of his natural athleticism and soft touch in the paint. He also showed the ability to step out and hit a few jumpers from three. As he continues to work on his offensive versatility, he should see his recruitment pick up over this summer.
7’0 Patrick Wessler of CC Elite 20222 had a phenomenal weekend at the G3 showcase. His full arsenal of moves on the post and his ability to hit the midrange was on full display. He did a great job of getting post position and with his touch and length became absolutely unstoppable scoring in the paint. The part I was most impressed with was his ability to pass out the post. He did a phenomenal job of being patient and finding the open teammate consistently from the post. If he continues to work on his athleticism and shooting ability, he has a real chance of being paid to play basketball. The NBA potential is there, just have to continue developing and put everything together.
5’11 Quinton Mitchell of Raising Young Men 2022 is a cerebral point guard who simply wins you games. His ability to balance his scoring and passing efforts along with his high IQ and feel for the game makes him a dynamic player and an asset to any program. Taking a look at his recruitment, it is almost puzzling that college to scholarship level coaches hasn’t been all over him. He can score it from all three levels, creates well for his teammates, and is an active defender. He also rebounds very well for his size and position. Look for his recruitment to pick up by the end of this summer.
