6’9 Ian Thomson of Upward Stars Bailey 17U is a long and active big. Very active rebounder on both sides of the ball. Uses his length to control the paint and blocks shots at a high rate, stays vertical, and doesn’t foul. Has a nice touch around the rim and has the ability score well with his back to the basket. Ran the floor well and showed that he could finish in transition. Finished the first game with a double-double and 5 blocks. Scholarship-Level Player
6’0 Dylan Garrington of Atlanta Timberwolves Green 16U can really shoot the ball. Shot the ball both off the catch and off the dribble consistently. Hit five threes (going five for eight) to finish the game and finished with 18 points. Knockdown shooter who created for his teammates and handles the ball well. Controls the pace of the game and has a pretty good IQ that allowed him to be effective with the ball in his hand.
6’4 Kobe Jones of Team ELE 17U is a super athletic lefty who really finishes above the rim. Handled the ball well and really got to the basket, finishing around the rim all game. Draws contact consistently and lives at the free throw line. Very lengthy wing who uses that length to get steals; really looks to get out in transition. His ability to change directions quickly allows him to keep the defense on their heels. Runs the floor well and gets downhill quickly; looked to finish everything above the rim.
6’4 Christian Cornish of Team Eat 16U has an amazing frame and build for a wing. Very strong and athletic kid who is an active defender. Plays the passing lanes and lives in transition. Rebounds the ball very well and looks to attack the rim relentlessly. Really good off-ball defender. Runs the floor hard, has a high motor, and is the hardest player on the court.
6’7 Jaret Valencia of Team Eat 16U is extremely long, rebounds the ball well on both sides. Has a great touch around the rim and is crafty with his finishes. Can play with his back to the basket and also holds the ability to face up. His length allows him to be a good shot blocker and allows him to make it difficult in the paint for his opponents. Showed that he can also slide his feet well on the switch in Pick & Roll situations. As he continues to develop his body and grow, look for his stock to begin to rise.
6’4 Donovan Atwell of Team Eat 16U is probably the best shooter I’ve seen all year. Had an extremely good performance sporting 32 points off of 10 made three’s. Really good shooter off the catch and off the dribble. Moves well without the ball and finds the open spot on the floor. Really high IQ and offensive awareness that allows him to be in the right spot at the right time. College Coaches need to hop on him now! Will be an immediate addition to the roster. Long knockdown shooter!
