Williams stepped out during the 2016 Hoop State Challenge, where he went for 40 points in two separated games. He has not slowed down at all this grassroots season.

Williams is a very good, multi-positional defender. Throughout the course of a tournament he will defend positions 1-4 on opposing teams.

After his performance at the Phenom Hoop State Challenge, Phenom Hoops Analyst Jamie Shaw seemingly predicted the offer, “We have seen Williams a good bit over the past two years, and he really stood out as a multi-positional defensive stopper (even against older kids). This weekend, he showed that he can carry a team offensively. He went for a camp high 39 points, scoring over 20 in each outing. He is long and plays with great pace. He also showed range (13 3s in the 3 games) and a quick release. Williams will place himself on many college program’s radar this summer and may even earn his first of many offers.”

This grassroots season Williams has already picked up offers from Alcorn St, Delaware St, and Presbyterian. He will have a lot of eyes on him, and those eyes should like what they see.
