South Granville
South Granville comes into the City of Oaks with an impressive and undefeated 13-0 record. Tucked away in the city of Creedmoor, South Granville plays in the Northern Carolina 1A/2A conference. Their opponent is NCHSAA 4A power, Leesville Road, and game time is set for 6:30 at North Raleigh Christian Academy. South Granville returns three All-Conference players in 6’1 junior Bobby Pettiford, 6’1 senior Micah Jones, and 6’3 senior Wy’Kise Allen
South Granville brings a team that is very athletic, exciting and brings plenty of scoring and balance. They are averaging 80 PPG and love to get out in transition. Leading the way is 6’1 junior Bobby Pettiford, who is regarded as one of the better players in the state for his class. Pettiford is putting up strong numbers and doing it on both ends of the court. He is averaging 21.2 PPG, 7.3 APG, 6.3 RPG, and 2.8 SPG. These are impressive numbers for the outstanding junior guard.
6’1 senior guard Micah Jones is averaging 19.5 PPG and 3.4 RPG while 6’3 senior Wy’Kise Allen is almost averaging a double double. He is averaging 14.1 PPG and 8.7 RPG. Coach Jake Wohlfeil gets plenty of additional support from 6’3 sophomore Collin Tanner who is averaging 11.1 PPG and 3.9 RPG along with 6’5 senior Kobe Jones who is steady at 8.8 PPG and 5.6 RPG.
South Granville likes to get out and have high scoring games and their starting five can all score points quickly. While Bobby Pettiford has been the highest profile player on the team, they also have the services of some talented seniors in Micah Jones and Wy’Kise Allen that will be bring experience, maturity and poise to this talented team.
